The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted recently, and with a remarkable performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the biggest winner. This standout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive earned the coveted Game of the Year award, along with accolades for Superb Storytelling and Excellence in Visuals.
Enhancing the studio's success, its talented actors also garnered personal awards. Jennifer English was named Outstanding Lead Performance for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Supporting Performance Award for his acting as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive itself received Studio of the Year. In total, Clair Obscur and its creative team achieved seven awards throughout the event.
Additional major winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which won Best Audio Design and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Top Self-Published Indie and Premier PC Title. It is important to note, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the audience, with only 4 categories—Critics’ Choice, Rising Star, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamers' Favorite—determined by critics.
