The Belarusian player finished the season with an notable twenty-three to three Grand Slam win-loss record.

The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second straight year.

The twenty-seven-year-old won four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – including retaining the US Open this past September against Amanda Anisimova to claim her fourth career Grand Slam singles title.

A Year of High Performance

Throughout the year, Sabalenka played in a tour-best nine championship matches, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The star player also claimed victory at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the entire year as the top-ranked player, concluding 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.

This past summer, she became the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.

Record-Breaking Numbers

Sabalenka finished the season with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and earned a historic eleven million pounds in prize money.

She earned almost 80% of the votes cast by international tennis media.

On 28 December, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "elevate women's tennis to a greater prominence".
